NOTICE OF INTENT TO MARRY FORM - GETTING STARTED
Yes there are legal forms and documents to complete. I will make it as easy as possible to ensure all the legal work is correct and lodged at the right time.
The following instructions should make it easy for you.
2. Book your wedding (weekday/week night/weekend) or arrange a no obligation meeting anytime
3. If we cannot meet, we can do it all by phone/email/mail
4. Complete a Notice of Intent to Marry document and have signed as instructed
5. Send me the Notice anytime from 18 months ahead
6. The deadline for receipt of the Notice for elopements/marriages at short notice is one month and one day beforehand
7. Show me your birth certificates if born in Australia
8. If born overseas, a passport from that overseas country is okay in lieu of a birth certificate
9. If divorced, show your divorce certificate
10. If widowed, show your late spouse’s death certificate
11. There must be two witnesses to the wedding
12. If you need to obtain a birth certificate, please log onto the Registry of Births Deaths & Marriages
13. If you need to obtain a divorce certificate, please contact the Family Law Court by phoning 1300 352 000 or emailing by phoning 1300 352 000 or emailing enquiries@familylawcourts.gov.au

The Notice of Intent to Marry form needs to be lodged between 18 months and no later than 1 month and 1 day prior to the ceremony. However, where time permits, it is best to lodge it earlier rather than leave it until the last minute. I can post one to you if you wish or you can dowload it here.
